In its inaugural year, the Indianapolis Monumental Mile is introduced as an early summer fitness test and a launching point for your fall training. Designed for fast performances, the course is flat with no turns and is on the final portion of both the Monumental Marathon and Half Marathon courses. For the experienced runner, it's your chance to eclipse your high school bests. The race is also created for beginners - with the free training plans to follow, if you can run a mile on Thursday, June 5, you can reach your goal at the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon on Saturday, November 1.

This is Louisville’s unique road event because the course does not go around the zoo; it goes “throo” it! So, while you give your legs their first real challenge of spring, you can treat your senses to the sights and sounds of nature—snow leopards, tigers, and flamingos. The Norton Audubon Hospital/McDonald's of KYANA Throo the Zoo 5K is a grand adventure for the entire family. Most importantly, everyone can participate—runners, walkers, and animal lovers of all ages.

Each participant also will receive FREE admission to the zoo for the day.
