1993 was the 20th Anniversary of the KDF miniMarathon. Also, at that time, the third leg of the Louisville Triple Crown of Running. Starting at Iroquois Park and finishing downtown, the race had a record number of finishers, just under 4,200.
"Under the kind of rainy conditions only ducks, runners and Gene Kelly seem to enjoy, John Wellerding became the second man to win the KDF miniMarathon three times, while Camille Forrester Estes completed her sweep of the 1993 Triple Crown of Running in the 20th annual road race yesterday."
Once again, back before internet and electronic timing, the race was on April 23rd but participants had to wait until May 4th for the special edition of sponsor Courier-Journal for the full results.
