In 1994, Metro Parks found a new sponsor for the second leg of the Louisville Triple Crown of Running, Vencor Intensive Care Hospitals and moved the race from the Outlets Mall to Churchill Downs. The start was in the middle of the track, headed out to Iroquois Park around and back to finish in the parking lot of Churchill Downs.
Jim Estes and Mary Anne Tonini were the overall male and female champions and Junior Rice continued his dominance of the wheelchair racing scene. There were 3,107 registered and close to 2,300 finishers.
